Sugar-Free is created entirely by a young Queer Caribbean diaspora team of talent. The film delves into the worlds of Brown Caribbean Queerness, neurodivergence, and the search for community and belonging through a psychedelic and unserious lens. Directed by Indo-Guyanese Brittany Misir, this film highlights the talents and topics of Queer Gen Z and Millennials of Caribbean heritage living in the diaspora. The story follows Candy as she painfully returns to her childhood home. However, after a moment of impossibility, Candy finds herself pouring her heart out to a group of dazzling strangers, who encourage her to come to peace with her journey. The film as since gone on to be featured in the Cinema Museum in London, England.
